A royal visit to the home of Leeds Rhinos from Prince William allowed a special opportunity for Rugby League legends Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield to recieve their honours away from the Palace.
Burrow and Sinfield recieved CBE’s for their services to helping the MND community. Burrow who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019, has since then has been very open with his struggles with the disease aswell as showing his and his families braveness in dealing with such a horrible disease. All of which can be seen in Burrows documentary Lindsey and Rob: Living With MND and within his book Too Many Reasons to live. He has been a crucial factor in raising awareness for the MND community, and pushing to one day hopefully putting an end to the disease.
Kevin Sinfield has been an inspiration for his efforts to raise money for the MND association. Sinfield has run done many charity runs with his latest being a UK tour of the 7 Ultra Marathons in 7 days, where he raised over one million pounds for the MND association. Sinfield has been a captain for Burrow on and off the field, and has said he will continue to raise money for the MND association.
Both men have Fully earnt these honours, hopefully both will recieve Knighthoods for their services in the next round of honours.
