Leeds Rhinos defeated struggling Hull FC in round nine of the Betfred Super League, after two debut tries from 19 year-old Riley Lumb. But another poor performance means pressure is rising on Rhinos coach Rohan Smith.
In a game full of errors, FC and The Rhinos both looked as though they wanted to lose the game. Creating an all familiar story for both clubs sets of fans.
The Black & Whites went into this game coachless, after the sacking of Tony Smith, Uncle of the Rhinos coach. But, this performance showed lots of promise compared to their efforts previously this season. However, it is impossible to be able to tell whether this is down to Hull or just how poor the Rhinos played.
The Blue and Amber once again looked weak in the forward pack, and unorganised everywhere else on the field.
There was a glimmer of hope for the Rhinos in the form of 19 year old Riley Lumb. Who was able to score two-tries on debut, and earn man of the match. Hopefully earning the youngster another shot next week with David Fusitua still sidelined through injury.
This poor performance does once again pile more pressure onto coach Rohan Smith, as Leeds failed to match the scorelines put up against Hull by their play-off rivals.
The Rhinos next game is against the London Broncos who are yet to get a win. Leeds must win the game comfortably to get back on the good side of fans, who during the game today were making their opinions clear on the state of the club at the moment.
