The F1 circus returns to the United States for the first of three US GP’s this season. The Miami Grand Prix is one of F1’s most unusual, with the track flowing around the Miami Dolphins Hard Rock Stadium. And the paddock once again sitting inside the 75,000 capacity stadium.
Max Verstappen is aiming to make it Three in a row in Florida for himself and the Red Bull team this weekend. But not all is going smoothly for the Red Bull outfit off track.
The most exciting news going into the weekend is Adrian Newey’s announcement that he will be leaving Red Bull racing at the start of 2025. After reports of unrest in the Red Bull camp since the allegations of misconduct against Team Principle Christian Horner.
Newey, aged 65, is one of F1’s most successful chief technical officers, winning 12 Constructers championships and 14 World Drivers championships, throughout his F1 career. With reports of interest from Ferrari and Aston Martin, Adrian’s comments of looking for a new challenge could mean that he is not yet done in F1.
Ferrari are looking a little blue this weekend and that is not due to last weekends Chinese GP being the first time the Italian team had not had a driver on the podium this season. Ferrari have gone in their classical Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino shades of blue across the car, however it is still mainly red.
This weekend is another sprint weekend, meaning that once again Red Bull are the believed favourites heading into the weekend. But as the season goes on and upgrades come in hopefully this gap will be getting much closer.
The Miami Grand Prix starts at 9 pm BST, live on Sky Sports F1.
