The 2024 British Grand Prix is just under two months away, meaning it is fast approaching. As someone who has been to the previous two races, at the famous Silverstone circuit, I thought I would share some tips on how to make the most out of your expierience if you are lucky enough to attend this years race.

Well firstly a bit of background on my tickets, I attended both years with general admission tickets, which means I was limited to where I could view the track. Which leads to my first tip.

Get fast pass, it is very important for getting the best spots around the circuit, especially on the Sunday. I was lucky enough to be able to view the GP from Vale corner, which gives you a great view of Silverstones hardest braking zone. Which for general admission is one of the best spots to view the cars. With the added bonus of being right next to the podium, so after the race when you are allowed to go on the track, you have a great chance of getting the best view of the podium.

Next up, bring some picnic food and a reusable water bottle. As is the case at many sporting events, to get food from vendors cost a lot more than away from the track. But this doesn’t mean don’t try it, on the friday last year, me and my family left our bags in the car so we would be able to move freely around the track. Which meant we purchased a lovely sausage sandwich, and a couple of bottles of water for the day. But for the rest of the weekend where losing your spot in general admission is possible it would be a good idea to bring your own food and water. Silverstone also have multiple water refilling stations around the circuit, so a reusable bottle would be a smart idea.

Another thing I learnt from my visit last year especially would be take in every bit of on track action you can. Silverstone compared to other Grand Prix on the calendar has lots of on track action. With F2, F3 and Porsches supercup being on the same weekend aswell as classic car show runs. Your paying lots of money make the most of it and see every possible chance for cars on track.

Take advantage of the museum and fan zone, both feature lots of F1 cars from the past and even some chances to show your F1 skills on simulators and pit stops.

Overall enjoy your weekend, and please let me know if any of these tips were helpful if this is your first British Grand Prix.
