Two-time Formula 2 winner and Formula 3 runner up Zak Osullivan will miss the remaining F2 rounds due to a lack of funding to complete the remaining races.

Osullivan ,who is apart of the Williams Racing Academy, earlier in the season won an exceptional feature race in Monaco after finding himself in the right place at the right time with a safety car.

It is commonly known that a large amount of costs for racing in the junior series come from sponsors and driver academies. For Osullivan this was sadly not enough. And after Williams choosing fellow academy member Franco Colapinto to replace the outgoing Logan Sargeant, this must be a double blow for the GB3 Champion.

Osullivan took to Instagram to state that “Unfortunately in our sport, there are more factors than a stopwatch”, he has also shared that he will remain with the Williams academy going forwards even though he will miss the remainder of the season. He has not shared what his next steps will be in his career.

Osullivan has been replaced by Williams academy teammate Luke Browning who just recently finished P3 in the F3 drivers championship. He will make his Formula 2 debut at the Azerbaijan GP this weekend for ART.
