Introducing to you the Sports League game of the week. This is the feature that puts forward Sports League’s game to watch for the week in rugby league.
This week, and our first to feature, our game of the week is the West Yorkshire derby between the Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity. Which will be live on Saturday from 2:55pm on Sky Sports +.
We believe this game is so important as it is two sides that have a lot to prove this week. The Rhinos come into this game off the back of a grueling pre-season where they have been made to work by Brad Arthur, who has made the side fitter both physically and mentally. With many once again tipping the Rhinos to get into the Play-offs, can Brad Arthur be the man to finally achieve a top 6 finish for the first time in two seasons.
Trinity on the other hand, blazed the Championship last season, only losing one game on their path to book their place back in the Super League. Wakefield are a completely different threat as to what they were 24 months ago, with owners who are now able to spend big money both on and off the field, many are tipping the Trin to be the next Super League underdog story.
Both sides have put out the strongest that they have available, creating a blockbuster clash that cannot be missed infront of a bumper Headingley crowd.
A match report will come out after the game, make sure to subscribe to the blog to keep up with the latest news and views of The Sports League.
