The end of another rugby league season is fast approaching. But first the final tale of the 2025 Campaign must come to a conclusion at the Theater of Dreams, Old Trafford. And it is a repeat of last years Grand Final between Hull KR and Wigan Warriors.
Hull KR Look To Make History
Hull KR are looking to complete a historic treble , and become the first new winner of the Super League since 2004.Hull defeated Warrington Wolves in the Challenge Cup Final to win their first major trophy since 1984. And clinched their first ever League Leaders Shield a couple of weeks ago.
The Robins are going into their second ever Grand Final, and are looking to right the wrongs of last year and go one step further. Last seasons Final ended 9-2 to the Warriors after some sensational play from Wigan Warriors star man Bevan French scored the only try.
Can Wigan Clinch the Three Peat?
Wigan are going for three in a row this Saturday. After making their 14th Super League Grand Final, by defeating the Leigh Leopards this past weekend.
The Warriors have become the benchmark for becoming Super League Champions, with the side being victorious at Old Trafford 7 times. Wigan are no doubt more suited to the pressures of a final than their opponents, after featuring in 3 of the last 5 Grand Finals.
Are Hull KR Now A “Big Game” Team?
But, The Robins have proven this season that they are growing as a threat in the big games. Something that many doubted of them in last years Grand Final, where they came up short. After clinching the Challenge Cup. And going victorious over the Warriors in round 22 of the regular season away from home.
And with a retiring Jared Waerea-Hargreaves now confirmed to end his career at Old Trafford. He will be looking to end his illustrious career with a Premiership victory outside of the southern hemisphere for himself and for his teammates.
Final Thoughts: Who Do Sports League Think Will Win?
Well with all the uncertainty of this years league and future, the one certainty that many believed would happen has happened. Wigan find themselves at Old Trafford once again. And of course it had to be a repeat of last years Grand Final against the Robins.
I think this is one of the hardest finals to call in terms of the end result. Both teams have looked like champion outfits throughout this whole year. But i just think the Warriors still, even after failing to win either of the other competitions, have an edge.
Wigan are just born for this kind of game, but in a way I hope I am wrong, and that Hull KR can finally put a new name on the trophy this Saturday.
